Introducing: FUR

Straight out of Brighton are up-and-coming indie rockers, Fur, who since bursting on to the scene have won over crowds up and down the country with their infectious 60’s inspired indie rock.

Fur’s four members, Will Murray, Harry Zwaig, Will Tavener and Flynn Whelan all met at BIMM Brighton, a higher education alternative for those wanting to enter the music business.

The band focus on melodic choruses which are heavily guitar driven, producing a sound that infuses modern day bedroom indie rock with early 60’s pop music.

Accompanied by lyrics that are both romantic yet sullen, the band provide love songs that are the physical embodiment of a teenage break-up.

They have released a number of singles this year, amongst them is the new melancholic ballad ‘Not Enough’, 60’s inspired ‘Eyes’ which is a personal favourite of mine, as well as 50’s do-wop inspired ‘Creature’.

With a number of danceable tunes and lyrics to match, the only way is up for the boys from the seaside, who have already played Tramlines this year as well as having a slot at Bestival to look forward to.

They are definitely one to watch this year, so expect to hear the name Fur a lot more in 2018!

You can listen to the band via their Soundcloud or on Spotify.
